My journey began in Beirut, the dynamic capital of Lebanon. Known for its lively nightlife, diverse culinary scene, and historical landmarks, Beirut is a city that never sleeps. Wandering through the bustling streets of Hamra, I indulged in local delicacies and experienced the city’s vibrant energy. The Corniche, a picturesque seaside promenade, offered a perfect spot to relax and take in the Mediterranean views.
A short drive from Beirut brought me to Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Walking through the ancient ruins, I marveled at the layers of history that span over 7,000 years. The Crusader Castle, Roman amphitheater, and ancient port are just a few of the historical gems that make Byblos a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The charming souks and waterfront cafes provided a delightful setting to enjoy the local atmosphere.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Jeita Grotto, a stunning limestone cave system located just north of Beirut. The grotto’s two levels, the upper gallery and the lower cave, showcased incredible stalactites and stalagmites formations. A boat ride through the lower cave revealed a magical underground river, making the Jeita Grotto a must-see natural wonder.
Heading to the mountains, I visited the famous Cedars of God in the Kadisha Valley. These ancient cedar trees, some over 1,000 years old, are a symbol of Lebanon’s heritage. Walking among these majestic trees, I felt a deep connection to nature and history. The nearby Kadisha Valley, with its monasteries and breathtaking landscapes, offered a serene escape from the bustling city life.
My journey continued to the coastal town of Batroun, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. The historic Phoenician wall, a testament to the town’s ancient origins, stands proudly against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea. I enjoyed fresh seafood at local restaurants and explored the charming old town with its narrow streets and traditional architecture.
No visit to Lebanon would be complete without exploring the ruins of Baalbek, an ancient city that houses some of the most impressive Roman temples in the world. The Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter are colossal structures that speak to the grandeur of Roman engineering. Walking through the ruins, I was transported back in time, imagining the city in its full glory.

My visit to Lebanon was an unforgettable journey that deepened my appreciation for the country’s diverse heritage and beauty.
