Ethiopia has always been one of those destinations that felt both mysterious and inviting. When the opportunity finally came to explore this beautiful country, I knew I was in for an adventure like no other. From its rich cultural heritage to its breathtaking landscapes, Ethiopia welcomed me with open arms and endless wonders.
Touching down in Addis Ababa, the bustling capital of Ethiopia, I was immediately captivated by the city’s energy. The blend of modernity and tradition creates a unique vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere. The warm, friendly faces of the locals made me feel right at home.
After settling in, I took my first stroll through the city, exploring its vibrant markets and tasting some of the local delicacies. Injera, the traditional Ethiopian flatbread, quickly became a favorite — its tangy flavor and soft texture paired perfectly with the rich, spicy stews.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the National Museum of Ethiopia. Seeing the famous fossil remains of “Lucy,” one of our oldest human ancestors, was a surreal experience. It reminded me of the deep historical roots that Ethiopia holds, not just for the region but for humanity as a whole.
The cultural exploration continued with a visit to the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The intricate architecture and spiritual atmosphere left me in awe. Walking through its historic halls, I couldn’t help but feel connected to Ethiopia’s storied past.
Ethiopia’s beauty isn’t confined to its cities. I took a trip to the Simien Mountains, and the scenery was nothing short of magical. Towering peaks, lush green valleys, and unique wildlife created a perfect backdrop for hiking and photography. The crisp mountain air and peaceful surroundings offered a much-needed escape from the fast pace of everyday life.
Another unforgettable experience was visiting Lake Tana, the largest lake in Ethiopia and the source of the Blue Nile. Taking a boat ride across its calm waters, I explored ancient monasteries on its islands, each with its own fascinating history and stories.
As my time in Ethiopia came to an end, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. This journey was more than just sightseeing — it was an immersion into a culture rich in history, tradition, and natural beauty. Ethiopia left a lasting impression on my heart, and I know this is only the beginning of my love affair with this incredible country.
If you ever get the chance to visit Ethiopia, take it without hesitation. The memories you’ll create and the experiences you’ll have will stay with you forever.
My trip to the Philippines was more than just a journey through historical sites; it was an immersion into the stories, art, and culture that shape this vibrant nation. From honoring the past at the Memorare Monument to marveling at the artistry in San Agustin Church and walking through history at Fort Santiago, each moment was a reminder of the rich heritage that makes the Philippines unique.
If you’re planning to visit, these landmarks are a must-see. They not only offer a glimpse into the country’s storied past but also showcase its timeless beauty and enduring spirit.
